I'm one of those people who experiences the paranormal more than average. Not everyday or anything like that. But I have probably a dozen instances in memory. Many of which I experienced with others. I believe I'm predisposed to it. My maternal grandfather was deeply superstitious as was his family. They believed demons could communicate through mirrors and certain acts could "upset the spirits". So perhaps this propensity to have these experiences more frequently is a hereditary thing.
The most prominent paranormal thing throughout my entire life is this entity I called "the witch". After telling this story a few times in my adulthood, I've come to find out that it's not uncommon. In fact, it's the origin of the word "nightmare" also called the "night hag". It appears most frequently in sleep paralysis.
I've seen the witch many times and even remember having a fear of the witch as a little kid. I came across a notebook years ago where I drew a picture of the witch with a knife in her head and I scribbled "DIE" at the top. I must've been 6 or 7 when I drew that. So the witch has plagued me for a very long time, even before my recallable memory.
This entity is very tall. I'm 6'2" and she's taller than me but sometimes appears smaller on occasion. She has elongated limbs and a hunched over posture. Long fingers and toes with claw-like nails. Her skin is an ashen grey with a tinge of greenish hue. She is very gaunt with sunken features and long stringy black hair. Her eyes are pitch black and her lips are curled and cracked with a jumbled and broken mouth of off colored teeth. She wears a tattered burlap robe, sometimes with a hood.
On occasion her appearance will differ slightly but there's one thing that never changes. The breathing. Everytime without fail, I can hear her breathing before she appears. Deep repetitive coarse breaths. Almost bestial in quality. Then comes the scraping of her nails across the floor. Always coming into the room where I'm sleeping to stare at me.
The oldest memory of a witch dream I have is probably around 10 years old.
